LaneSync - Sprint Timer for iPhone and Apple Watch

Contact: austin.munoz@mechanicalmacro.com
Please include your iPhone model, iOS version, and (if you use one) your Apple Watch model.

What LaneSync is

LaneSync times sprints with two iPhones, or with one iPhone and an Apple Watch, and needs no internet at the track. One device starts the run with a spoken “take your mark, set” and a starting gun; the finish iPhone films the line and detects each runner crossing it. You check each finish frame by frame, assign it to a runner, and save it. Every result is kept in History, with PB and SB badges.

Your first workout is free: one session on the finish iPhone, with as many runs as you like. Everything you save stays free to view, share as a result card, and delete.

LaneSync Pro is an optional subscription that adds unlimited workouts, CSV export of your times (and sharing sessions and personal bests as text), and analysis of the runs you record: progress charts per distance, personal-best progression, per-runner trends, and last run versus PB and recent average. Your saved results stay in History whether or not you subscribe.

Getting started

  1. Open LaneSync on both iPhones. On one choose START, on the other FINISH. (Using an Apple Watch as the starter? Choose FINISH on the iPhone, then Start from Apple Watch.)
  2. With the devices side by side, tap Sync clocks.
  3. Take the finish phone to the line, line up the guide on the finish line, and start detecting.
  4. On the start device, pick the distance and delay and tap START.
  5. When you're done, bring the devices back together to end the session, then review and save the times on the iPhone.

Apple Watch tips

“Free workout used”

Each iPhone can time one workout without LaneSync Pro. It counts once the finish iPhone has sent its times to the start phone, or saved them in an Apple Watch session; a session you discard, or one with no finish in it, doesn't count. After that, choosing FINISH asks whether the start phone has LaneSync Pro: a start phone with Pro covers the finish phone it times with, so the session goes ahead and doesn't use the finish phone's free workout (export and progress charts stay with the subscribed phone). Without Pro on either phone, LaneSync shows the plans. START is never limited, and History stays free to view.

Free trial

New subscribers start LaneSync Pro with a 7-day free trial, once per Apple ID. The plans screen shows the trial only if your Apple ID can still take it, together with the price you'll pay when it ends. If you don't cancel, the trial turns into the plan you chose and your Apple ID is charged at the end of the 7 days; after that it renews automatically.

To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends: open the LaneSync Pro screen and tap Manage Subscription, or go to Settings › your name › Subscriptions › LaneSync Pro and tap Cancel Free Trial. Pro stays on until the trial's end date either way. The LaneSync Pro row on the first screen shows when the first charge is due.

Restore purchases

  1. Open LaneSync and tap the LaneSync Pro row on the first screen (or tap ⋯ › LaneSync Pro…).
  2. Tap Restore Purchases. You may be asked to sign in with the Apple ID you subscribed with.

A subscription works on every iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID.

Manage or cancel your subscription

Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid renewal. After cancelling, Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for. Afterwards all of your saved results stay in History, and a session you've already started can always be finished and saved; starting new workouts, CSV export and the progress charts need Pro again.

Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.
