Privacy Policy
In short: StrideLab doesn't collect any data. Your videos, their analyses and your settings stay on your device. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and nothing is sent to us.
This policy explains what the StrideLab app for iPhone and iPad does with information. "We" means the developer of StrideLab.
What we collect
Nothing. StrideLab has no server and no accounts, and the app doesn't send your videos, analyses, settings or any information about you or your device to us or to anyone else. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it doesn't use the advertising identifier.
What stays on your device
- Videos you record in StrideLab or import from Photos are kept in StrideLab's own storage on your device.
- Analyses: the body positions (a skeleton of joint points) that StrideLab measures from your videos, the measurements and the coaching tips. They are worked out on your device, using Apple's on-device body tracking, and saved next to the video.
- Corrections you make (marked steps, moved joints) and your settings (for example camera lens, frame rate, coaching preferences and comparison level).
- Subscription status: a copy of your StrideLab Pro entitlement is kept in your device's keychain, so the app knows you're subscribed when it's offline. It is not synced to other devices.
The videos and analyses are left out of iCloud Backup because of their size. Settings and the list of your clips may be included in your device's own backup, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.
Camera
StrideLab asks for the camera so you can record sprints in the app. It records video only, never sound, and the recording stays on your device.
Photos
- Importing: you choose videos with the system photo picker, which gives StrideLab only the videos you pick. If you allow StrideLab to read your photo library, it uses that only to look up the video you picked (when it was filmed, whether it is a Slo-mo) and to copy a Slo-mo's original high-frame-rate file. It doesn't browse or read anything else. If you decline, importing still works.
- Saving: if "Also save to camera roll" is on (it is on by default, and you can turn it off on the record screen), each recording is also saved to your camera roll. When you choose "Save video with skeleton", that video is saved to your camera roll. Both need permission to add to Photos.
You can change these permissions at any time in the Settings app.
Purchases
StrideLab Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, name or Apple Account. The app checks your subscription with Apple on your device; there is no StrideLab server involved. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Sharing
Videos, frames and scorecards leave your device only when you share or save them yourself, using the share sheet or Save to Photos. What happens to them after that depends on the app or person you share them with.
Children
StrideLab is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Deleting your data
Delete a clip in StrideLab to remove its video, analysis and corrections from the app. Deleting the app removes everything StrideLab stored on the device, including its settings. Copies saved to your camera roll or shared elsewhere are not affected; delete those in Photos or wherever you shared them. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.
Changes to this policy
If StrideLab's handling of information changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above changed before the new version of the app is released. If a future version would collect any data, this policy will say what, and why, first.
